About Us

In 2018, my eldest daughter was ready to begin her studies. Like many parents, we felt both pride and uncertainty—we didn’t know how we would afford it, but we knew we had to find a way. When she moved to Cape Town, her room stood empty… and that truly broke my heart.

 

After many honest conversations with my husband, we decided to turn that space into an opportunity. With his full support, I took a leap of faith and began my guesthouse journey.​ From the start, I threw myself into learning and preparing for what lay ahead. I was never alone , my husband and our three daughters have supported me every step of the way, and that has meant the world to me.

Choosing a name was deeply personal. Cenikma is a combination of all my daughters’ names, a constant reminder of why I started.

 

I soon discovered a real passion for hosting. I love creating a space where people feel comfortable, cared for, and truly welcome. As time went on, my other two daughters also left for varsity, and their rooms naturally became part of this journey. Each space has its own personality, and each one is close to my heart.

Today, I feel grateful for how far we've come. What started as one room has grown into something much bigger—including my first 2-bedroom self-catering unit. Step by step, this dream continues to grow.

 Family means everything to me. That is what I’ve built here - 
a warm, welcoming space where guests are cared for and feel at home from the moment they arrive.
